Thomas Holmes
Bachelor of Science in Music Education - West Texas A&M University Mr. Holmes is originally from Miles City, Montana. In 1992 he moved to Texas to attend music school at West Texas A&M University. In 1997 Mr. Holmes moved to the DFW area to start graduate studies at the University of North Texas and began a successful 17 year career as a freelance musician and private lesson teacher which included many Texas All-State students, outstanding performers at the state solo contest and several appearances as a soloist with area bands.
Mr. Holmes is starting his 7th year as a middle school band director, and 5th year at Grapevine Middle. His duties include directing the Symphonic Band, assisting the Honors Band, and teaching the Beginner Brass and Woodwind classes. He believes students should not only learn to become a good musician, but they should take away important life skills like personal responsibility, teamwork, integrity, goal setting and perseverance. Mr. Holmes resides in Plano with his wife Charlotte. He enjoys traveling, playing puzzle and strategy games, eating out, spending time with his son and watching baseball (Go Rangers!). |
